Effective January 1, 2027. These terms supplement the Terms of Service and Community Standards for The Collectiv Exchange.
1. What the Exchange does
The Exchange matches cards collectors offer with cards other collectors want, and carries trade proposals, counteroffers and short notes between them. That is all The Collectiv does in a trade.
2. The Collectiv’s role
Each trade is an agreement only between the collectors involved. The Collectiv isn’t a party to it, and isn’t a payment intermediary, custodian, escrow agent, shipper, authenticator, insurer or guarantor. The Collectiv doesn’t inspect cards, verify that a trade happened, or take payment for trades. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights or The Collectiv’s responsibility for its own conduct.
3. When a trade is agreed
A proposal becomes an agreed trade [When a proposal becomes a binding trade — decision]. Withdrawing or cancelling: [Withdrawal and cancellation rules — decision]. Proposals that aren’t answered within 14 days expire.
4. Who can trade
You must be at least [Minimum age to trade — decision], have a public collector profile, agree to these terms, and own or have the right to trade every card you offer.
5. Describing your cards
Describe each card accurately and completely: the exact card, set, number and printing; its condition or grade; and any alteration, damage, trimming, restoration, cleaning, reprint or doubt about authenticity. Values shown in the Exchange are each collector’s own estimates.
6. Not allowed
Counterfeit, stolen or misrepresented cards; asking for payment outside the agreed proposal; taking a trade off-platform to avoid these terms; and any conduct in the Community Standards.
7. Shipping and risk
The collectors arrange shipping themselves, including who ships first, packaging, tracking, insurance and deadlines. Use tracked and insured shipping. Unless the collectors agree otherwise, loss or damage in transit is borne by [Default allocation of loss or damage in transit — decision]. Returns: [Returns between traders — decision].
8. Problems and disputes
Report suspected fraud from the collector’s profile or the proposal. The Collectiv may restrict or close accounts involved in fraud. Dispute help The Collectiv offers: [Dispute assistance Rarivelle offers — decision]. The Collectiv keeps proposal records for 5 years.
9. Staying safe
Don’t share more personal information than the trade needs, never send account passwords or verification codes, and be wary of anyone offering guarantees The Collectiv doesn’t provide or pushing you to trade or pay outside the agreed proposal.
